'Jigsaw' is an attempt to translate sound into form. It is part of a series of drawings generated from music, in this case the song "Jigsaw" by Radiohead. A computer simulated string dances in space, stimulated by the audio coming from a vinyl player. The frequencies of each moment of music are funnelled through a series of algorithms, developed and actively controlled by the artist, and become forces that push and pull a moving line. The journey of this line is then recorded, revealing the emergence of unpredictable patterns and figures. A tight collaboration between the human and the machine, this has its final and emblematic step in the printing process. A CNC pen-plotter, equipped with an extra-fine technical pen, draws the outcome as a hand would do; but with the incredible accuracy of a machine. The artist's intent is to work at the edge between the human and the ultra-human, wandering in territories once precluded.
